3 Signs that you are Waking Up!

wake up

The Japanese call it Satori, the Buddhists call it Enlightenment, and us American’s call it “go out and get a job” – just kidding! We call it consciousness.

Regardless of what you call it; we all at one point or another seem to WAKE UP!

When you have woken up, you know it! Here are three signs that you are well on your way!

1. You find yourself disgusted! That’s right! Down right disgusted! Disgusted by the idea that you have settled for too long. Disgusted by the idea that you have not taken responsibility and have allowed certain things to stay in your life for too long! Thankfully, at the blink of a moment, that can all change.  Become aware of why you were doing what you were doing.  Embrace a fresh view on what you have been trying to avoid. Let this disgust motivate you to take immediate and forward action!

2. You find yourself less stimulated by the same old conversations. You’re tired of engaging in the gossip, the complaints, the ridicule and the criticism. For too long you have entertained it, and for some reason it just doesn’t stimulate you the way it once did. You now see it as a petty, time burning activity. But that’s all in the past. Now, you can’t engage in those conversations because it will take time away from contemplating your dreams and goals. It will take time away from having the conversations that will allow you to meet like minded people who are taking positive action towards their dreams. The days of the gossip and complaints are over!

3. You find yourself. You find yourself blocking out everyone else’s voice so you can finally hear your own. The biggest reason why people do not get what they want out of life is because they genuinely do not know that they want. One of the reasons for this is because they are living someone else’s life and listening to someone else’s voice. “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.” -Oscar Wilde

We have been programmed to think that change takes years upon years. However, no matter where we are at in our lives, we have all had a moment of awakening. We have all seen things from a  fresh and new perspective and we have all said, “I’m not going to take this anymore!” Do not hit the snooze button on your life! Wake up! Live and Love!

  1. Yes, you do know it. It takes practice however to stay awake and not fog out again. Until you become what you do. Be the thing.

We know innately that we are on the brink of something disastrous. How can it be otherwise when all being connected we are killing off our natural resources and the animals that have a job to do within the ecosystem. We want to find our true natures again this is the only saving grace. Because when it implodes that is it. We must be prepared to not be materialistic or selfish image of our fake selves the “mask” but genuine. The real deal.

Being at the top of the food chain does and will not leave us unscathed.

  3. This happened to me during the last Christmas season. I felt disgusted with myself, on how consumerist my Christmas had become. I basically commanded my kids (no presents for Mom this year) we’re doing something different and ever since I’ve opted for a no-nonsense way of life.
    Great post!

  4. I like your articles. I will check back in the future. On this one it reminded me of the book “Habits” by Charles Duhigg. He notes we do so much in our life out of habit, which could be good or bad, We need to breaks bad habits, by understanding them and seeking a new reward for the impetus. Thanks for following my blog. BTG

Happy Friday! Today I am rebloggiing a post written by Jeff Moore. He started following my blog last week so I checked his out, Everyday Power. His motivational, positive, empowering message are amazing! This one particularly spoke to me, about the ways in which we know we are ready for something new, something big, when we are ready to wake up to our lives! I hope you enjoy it like I have.
